The Husqvarna FE 501s was named Cycle World’s Best Enduro/Dual Sport in 2015. Five years later, Husqvarna’s flagship dual sport bike features a bevy of updates, some of which were focused on the engine—namely a shorter and lighter cylinder head, a new camshaft, an increased compression ratio, and a new exhaust system.

Ahead of an upcoming dual sport comparison, we ran Husqvarna’s highest-displacement street-legal dirt bike on our in-house dyno to see how much horsepower and torque it produces. We documented 40.3 hp at 8,100 rpm and 28.2 pound-feet of torque at 5,700 rpm.

Ive been ignoring silly responses but thats not constructive towards the community here.

Context:
2017 250Fhas 38hp at the crank. (This has more power than i can handle)

Would have thought that a 500 will put down much more, simple as a sad dyno figure.

TMan, as I said go ride one. Not many people worry about the hp/kw on a dirtbike, same as a 500 Fiat.
There is an old saying - Horsepower sells cars , torque wins races

Is that 40hp of the 500 measured at the rear wheel or flywheel?
Any idea what the 350s push out with the similar motor as the 250 it must be impressive.

Jip, 40rwhp.

Crank power at a guess for 2020 models are probably around

250: 40hp
350: 50hp
500: 65hp

But im sure these will be available on the net somewhere

The US mapping and strict emissions kit robs the bike of hp especially in dual sport guise, so I don't think that figure is relevant in other markets. EU AUS spec 4t Excf Katooms have a different map as far as I know, lots of info on the net. That 500 surely makes 60hp without all the smog restrictions etc.. Awesome bikes, so easy to ride
