Interweb connection speed, what is considered good?

Hi all,

What is considered a good connection speed and what standard (post link of page for all to test) is reliable?

I used mybroadband's page:

Ping: 17ms
Download: 36.35Mbps
Upload: 16.1Mbps

Busy testing a new 4G wireless system on Huwawei B618 router. SIM card based.

Any other test sites to compare against?

Anything above 2MB you can live with, 4MB is good, anything over consider yourself lucky for home use.

Cell C Advanced LTE with external antenna

Tower in area fucks me around as it can only do max 70 down.

I believe its possible to get 150 down

i get about 97mbs down and 10 up (My chosen speed) or i can have 50 up and 50 down for same price (Uncapped Unshaped)

thats in randburg using vumatel fiber

it depends what you consider worth it, R1000 a month and you can get 100mb fiber

It doesn't always use the closest tower to you, it might pick up one further away sometimes

Telkom has a special now for 4MB uncapped at R599 think 8MB is R799.

Which is not bad.
