Completely agree. Saying there is room for improvement is swak. Just give everyone the two laps and rectify the matter. Makes no sense at all.
basically if you take the 2 laps into account Leroy wins and the standings are correct , but the argument is why was the 3rd lap excluded , it should be included , if you take Jon's times into account he would have also passed Leroy and Izaak on the 3rd lap and won the race ,he would then move from 4th to 1st , is that fair or not , I do not thinks so as they let all 3 of them through for the 3rd lap , but ya , let us maar get back to how bad MSA is when it comes to rules and regulations compared to WOMZA ....oooops did i just say that .

Jonno, best you have 2 watches and a backup phone if you in it for the championship.

But also I was surprised there is a club class and a Club A + a Club B class.

How are these classes differentiated?

There was only a club class, Silver had an A and B split though.

Of the 51 riders who started in club class only 27 completed a lap or more...

i sum it up as follows , and by no ways are we saying any one cheated , it was more about the fairness of the 3rd lap , his strava may well have a glich somewhere and can only assume is he uses his phone to track and not his watch like Izak and Jon so which then loads down his data from his watch to watch;s phone app then to strave , same way I do it

Izak did not complete the 3rd lap as Jon pointed out as he crashed and hurt himself , and took the next shoertcut home , because they cut the lap to only two laps , Jon ended up 4th instead of first if you look at times on Strava , that was the point we making .

The straight line does show an issue on Leroys Strava that something did go wrong with the tracking , but his time is fairly close to RC time taking into account he started strava about 15 to 20 min before the race time , then it is basically very close .

The point remains why was the 3rd lap not accounted for as this is only fair if you made the time bar , in this instance Jon got the short end of the stick , it played in izaks favour too as only the first two laps where taken to determine results , it was not about cheating but about the fairness of cutting it back to two laps , the point we making is Jon should have won . mainly sue to the fact he did the 3rd lap fairly consistently to the other two and this would have pushed him to the top step , would be interesting to see what went wrong on his 3rd lap that he took so long though .
Dean, can you not get your secretary to post for you - or the ladies from MSA :33:

Yes, it fits in with TheGayBulls and Yamaha, so why not :33:
What have we? You don’t ride a Yamaha, you ride what the sheep ride. Yet a very good mate of yours called you a poes. Mmmmm

“Wow our first Michelin EWXC was a real cracker and thank you to all that joined us and participated in our first event of 2020!! All those beers on the beach, pizza for dinner and lack of gym sessions over the festive season paid its toll. When the heavens opened with a sudden, dust controlling, down pour we realized we were in for a tough day, and tough it was! The rain made the rocks slippery and the pro's who where first off, dug out any solid soil. When the second race arrived they were thrown in the deep end and had to deal with with a rip current. ROCKS and more ROCKS !!

Unbeknown to us, this was become one of the tougher courses that EnduroWorld has set, and after reflection, and great old hindsight we realize that this was not ideal for the first race of the season. However, We did love the new venue and can not fault the pits, catering, medics, toilets and the great participation and spirit that you all brought with you.

Thank you for all your feedback! We have had various emails flowing in regarding the toughness of the route and have taken all into consideration. We will definitely have an easier route at Piesangkloof and let you ease into this year. We are also aware that some of you enjoyed the challenge of this last race and therefore we are considering we cutting out some of the really gnarly stuff in the 2nd race of the day , keeping it challenging, but give you some breathing space.

We are learning, and have decided that going forward we will be implementing a race cut off time. In all future races if you are not finished your lap before the race end time, that lap will not count. We need to consider the people waiting for Prize Giving or those who cannot wait around for the whole day for this to take place.

We also acknowledge we had few issues with some contestants not completing the full route, so we have investigated tracking units but this all comes at a cost...this will ensure that each participants have to fully complete each lap and will be tracked accordingly. But this also means, given the logistics of this new technology, unfortunately under NO circumstance will anyone be allowed to change their class on the Wednesday before the race as this will then cause major havoc with the logistics and timing.

Regarding this timing issue, please remember that you have 30 minutes after the results are posted to contest the outcomes. Our hands are tied if someone contests after this time period and unfortunately we cannot assist in rectifying and dispute.

We really value your input and please keep the interaction flowing. We want to make this the best series in South Africa and if we don’t get your feedback, try out new ideas, we will not be able to make it the most enjoyable race series. Our aim is to make each and every race an event that you all are excited to attend and participate. “

Dumb Rule that
Great way to confuse the people who are actually racing and makes planning/strategy in a race a complete clusterfuck. Also competitors on the track will not know if they are leading or not if the race time has expired whilst you were out on your last lap. What if your last lap is your best lap?

Why reinvent the wheel. The cut off should prevent people from racing further as in sorry you are not fast enough you may now go and chill in the pits.

Its like saying hi everyone, from now on there will be imaginary time bars. Maybe you make it or maybe not. . . . Not clever.

But I dont like or dislike the serious and im not supporting them so obviously this makes me a qwerty jockey.
