We have started doing this set up on various builds.

Here you can see it nicely as the trailer is an open kayak trailer, whereas we usually fit this to enclosed builds.

On this specific job we fitted a removable "roof rack". Then added a 120w solar panel with 20 amp controller and a 105ah deep cycle battery. We housed the battery inside a lockable steel trunk that also has a 65w inverter for 220V items as well as a 12v power socket outlet.

nice idea, how safe is that foam for insulation, any chance a bit of road vibration and the terminals will rub through and short on the box lid?

Thanks,

Plenty buffer there, they dont really touch the lid at all, its more a precaution.

We have done plenty battery boxes like these on the car trailers for the winches, no come backs through the years at all.

Oh, so you not a manufacturer, you a smous
All depends on the application. We are manufacturers and also agents for various components and even Venter trailers.

With boxes like these, as long as they are the right spec, it makes more sense to get off shelf. But for custom applications we can also design and make up etc. But the cost gets a lot higher.
